Nobu to Open Luxury Hotel at Caesar’s Palace
Matsuhisa Nobu and Co expand their fine dining empire into the world of luxury hotels in Las Vegas
The best Las Vegas hotels are often known for their award-winning restaurants, but can a restaurant parlay its fame into a successful Las Vegas hotel? If your restaurant’s name is Nobu, you might have a shot.
For the past two decades, master chef Nobu Matsuhisa (along with long-time business partners Robert De Niro and Meir Teper) has worked hard to make Nobu a premier name in fine dining. Since NYC’s original Nobu opened in 1993, the Nobu Empire has grown to include 25 locations worldwide.
Now, the Nobu brand has its sights set on still bigger goals. According to a press release, Nobu Hospitality and Caesar’s Palace have “signed a non-binding letter of intent to develop the world’s first Nobu Hotel, an innovative concept that will integrate an exclusive hotel tower with the first Nobu restaurant and lounge on the Las Vegas Strip.”
The Caesar’s Palace Las Vegas hotel will conduct major renovations on their Centurion Tower, transforming it to meet Nobu Hospitality’s vision. The resultant 180-room, 16-suite Nobu Hotel will be a luxurious Las Vegas hotel with modern style and elegant Japanese flair. Along with Caesar’s Palace amenities, Nobu Hotel visitors will enjoy perks like private check-in and room service straight from the Nobu culinary team.
Speaking of which, the Nobu Hotel centerpieces will naturally be the 9,500 sq-ft Nobu restaurant and lounge at the hotel tower’s base. If you’re familiar with Nobu’s Latin-tinged Japanese dishes, you know exactly how exciting this is.
Nobu Hospitality is also planning to build a luxury hotel in NYC’s Financial District, but that may not reach completion until 2013, where Nobu Hotel at Caesar’s Palace could be completed as soon as next year. For the foodie who’s already tried it all in Las Vegas, here’s something extra special to look forward to.
